BMW AG is poised to introduce the newly launched BMW 1 Series Coupe in North USA during the upcoming 2007 Los Angeles Auto Show. The year ending show will be the stage for the American debut of the vehicle.

After unveiling the BMW 1 Series Coupe, the German maker will roll out the automobile in dealer showrooms all over the United Says in the spring of 2008. Only two model variants of the BMW 1 Series Coupe will be offered: the BMW 128i and the BMW 135i. Both model variants will be equipped with a monstrous 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine under its hood.

This power unit for the BMW 1 Series Coupe is capable of producing 300 horsepower and developing 300 lb ft of torque from 1,400 rpm. The engine is also equipped with powertrain features like direct piezo gasoline injectors, twin turbochargers, and Valvetronic valvetrain management (for the 128i Coupe only). With this powertrain package, it grants both the BMW 1 Series Coupe models to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.3 seconds, reaching an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. In spite of the powerful performance, the engine still offers an impressive fuel economy and low exhaust emissions.

High calibre technical parts continue to the suspension, steering, braking system, and other systems. The new BMW 1 Series Coupe offers a sophisticated suspension system with aluminium double-pivot front suspension and a five-link fully independent rear suspension prefabricated of lightweight steel. A sports suspension is also offered, which includes high-performance brake system and brake cooling. In addition, BMW also offers Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) function, and Active Steering.

Every BMW 1 Series Coupe models is equipped with sophisticated exterior styling and aerodynamic components. The sporty appearance features the long hood, short overhangs, long wheelbase, massive frameless doors, and the standard M Aerodynamic Kit. The rear portion of the BMW 1 Series Coupe features trunklid with integrated spoiler, and additional lip spoiler for the 135i Coupe.

As expected for all BMW models, the BMW 1 Series Coupe comes with a luxurious. elegant, and comfortable interior. The automobile is equipped with 60/40 split rear seat, iDrive system with optional Navigation system, Galvanized pearl gloss surfaces, and Leatherette or rich Boston Leather upholstery, SIRIUS satellite radio, HD radio, Premium Sound system, Bluetooth connectivity, and connection port for MP3 players.

Optional interior features are also offered like the sports buckets seats, which is included in the Sports Package. The 1 Series Coupe could also have BMW racing parts for customization.

Everything about the CL luxury coupe screams Mercedes-Benz starting from its styling elements that dates back to the 50s up to the additional cutting-edge country and comfort features—it simply can't be denied that it’s a Mercedes. The CL luxury coupe is offered in two engine choices: the 5.5-litre (285kW, 530Nm) CL500 version and the super mighty 6.3-litre CL63 AMG (386kW and 630Nm). Both models are also fitted with Mercedes’ 7 G-tronic automatic transmission linked to the Direct Choose gearshift located on the steering column. Three shift modes are also offered: comfort, manual, and sport. There are also buttons located behind the steering wheel which can be used for manual shifting.

In the manual mode the electronics will follow the traditional or normal gear selection instructions with the driver doing the gear shifting but with the automatic as the word recommend would just shift to the next gear once the rev limit is reached. There are also other modes wherein the management system will override inputs at its discretion. Those modes also modify the gearbox characteristics same with the suspension damping and springing settings.

The CL500 possess calibre handling abilities in all modes however the manual mode was by far the ideal when it comes to uneven terrains since the gear adapts to the various driving pressures especially when sudden gear shifting are required. Likewise, the CL’s Active Body Control suspension system alters the damping to conform to the road condition while lowering the body by up to 10mm when speed is over 100km/h are detected. And talking of luxury automobiles did you know that Mercedes-Benz has created E-class which is the automaker’s mid-size luxury car/ executive automobile sold by DaimlerChrysler. The E-class is acquirable with various four, six and eight cylinder petroleum gasoline and diesel engines. The E-class first appeared in the 1950s and became the best-selling model worldwide. It is used for luxury or executive transport and in some countries such as Germany, Singapore, and Portugal the E-class is utilized as taxis or police interceptor vehicle.

The E-class range is comprised of the 400E, 300E, W124, 500E, W123, W120, W110, W20, W212 and more which are launch on separate years. The 400E and 500E went into production on August 6, 1991 as 1992 models. Unfortunately the production of the 500E ended on June 24, 1994. In support of its E-Class DaimlerChrysler has launched calibre lines of auto parts suitable for the E-class like for instance the Mercedes-Benz 400E parts and Mercedes 300E parts among others.
