Michelle Watkins began working at University Marketing and Communications in 2014. She is a native of Miller, South Dakota. Watkins serves as the web services coordinator for the team responsible for maintaining the public website for South Dakota State University.

Academic Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact and coordinate all web projects related to the sdstate.edu website, including: support, accessibility, quality assurance, SEO, updates, analytics, new features, trainings, working with third-party developer, etc.
- Oversee and coordinate tasks for the SDSU web team and administrative student support team.
- Manage all office related items for University Marketing and Communications from bills, invoices, maintain unit budget, technology support and upgrades, software and contract renewals, customer service and other administrative roles.
