Biography
Lisa Johansen Aust has served as the university photographer at South Dakota State University since 2023.
Before joining the Jackrabbits, Aust worked as a photographer for Sanford Health marketing from 2012-2020. She also started a freelance business for event photography, serving corporate and community nonprofit clients in the Sioux Falls area.
Aust previously worked as the associate editor of the Pierre Capital Journal and as a communication specialist at the Associated School Boards of South Dakota.
A Minnesota native, Aust earned her bachelor’s degree in communication from The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota, in 2004. She earned her master's degree in journalism, with a focus on photojournalism, from the University of Iowa in 2007.
