Biography

I am Karishma Kumari, a Ph.D. student at Raven Precision Agriculture Center at South Dakota State University specializing in plant science. I completed my Master of Technology at ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, focusing on developing a sensor-based device for crop disease severity estimation. Before this, I earned a Bachelor of Technology in agricultural engineering from Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agriculture University in Samastipur, India. During my Master of Technology, I gained skills in precision agriculture, including sensor interfacing with Raspberry Pi and Arduino, image processing using MATLAB, and statistical analysis with R software. I also trained in Remote Sensing and GIS applications at the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) and learned finite element analysis and simulation using CATIA, NX-Unigraphics and ANSYS at CTTC Bhubaneswar. Additionally, I secured the eighth all India rank in the ICAR AIEEE PG-Junior Research Fellow Examination 2020 and the eighth rank (EWS category) in the AICE-Ph.D. Senior Research Fellow Examination in 2022. As an aspiring agricultural engineer, I am passionate about innovative research and development, eager to contribute my expertise and committed to professional growth and meaningful contributions to precision and sustainable agriculture.
