ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥

Heidi Bushong is a digital media assistant specialist for University Marketing and Communications at South Dakota State University. A Vermillion native and proud ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ graduate, she began her career in journalism, working with several South Dakota news outlets before transitioning into public relations.

In her role at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥, Bushong helps manage the university’s official social media accounts and works closely with the student media team to guide content creation and build hands-on learning opportunities. She oversees and produces multiple video series for the university, from concept development to interviewing and publishing. Her responsibilities also include producing and hosting podcast episodes that highlight life at the university, campus initiatives and stories from across the region — including serving as the host of "The Yellow & Blue Podcast."

Through her storytelling, video production and social media strategy, Bushong engages current and prospective students, families, alumni, university stakeholders and communities across South Dakota and beyond.
