Addison DeHaven
Research Communications Coordinator
Biography
Addison DeHaven is the research communications coordinator for South Dakota's premier university, South Dakota State. In his role, DeHaven oversees the university's research communications efforts and works alongside professors, researchers, administrators, alumni and external stakeholders to develop messages that promote and enhance the university's research enterprise and land-grant mission. He also manages the university's research LinkedIn page.
Before SDSU, DeHaven worked as a journalist for the Brookings Register. His timely and impactful reporting on education issues in the state prompted considerable discussion and contributed to proposed legislation during the 2022 South Dakota legislative session.
DeHaven earned his master's degree in higher education from Iowa State University and his bachelor's degree in journalism and mass media studies from Boise State University.
