Old Horticulture
Building Description
Old Horticulture houses the Office of Information Technology. It was built in 1901 as the original home of the SDSU Horticulture Department.
In the early 20th century, SDSU horticulturist Niels Hansen used this building as a base for his travels to Europe, Russia and China to identify new plant varieties that helped tame the prairies. Many of his international plant discoveries are still seen in many of the forage and horticultural plants found across the state.
